OUT OF TOWN PATIENT GUIDE

Our staff is accustomed to ensuring that your out of town surgical experience is smooth and comfortable. We are here to guide you every step of the way through your surgical journey. From hotel recommendations to arranging for flexible surgical & follow up appointments; we are here to make sure it is convenient and hassle-free.

As a board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. James Lee welcomes patients from all over who are looking to have convenient and expert care. Our team is dedicated to making sure your surgical journey with our clinic is safe, convenient and a great experience. Here is an out-of-town guide to help you through the process and make it as smooth as possible.

YOUR CONSULTATION

A consultation as a first appointment is needed in order to assess your needs and determine the best technique for your procedure. Dr. Lee will take the time to listen and discuss your options to help you achieve your goals. Our surgical team will help prepare you throughout your surgical experience.

SCHEDULING AND SURGERY PAYMENT

Following your consultation with Dr. Lee, our surgical coordinator; Gelsy will be able to provide surgery date availabilities and cost of your procedure. A deposit is required to secure surgical dates and a payment plan is discussed. We accept credit cards, cash, certified checks, and bank drafts as methods of payment. We also offer financing options in order to set up flexible payment plans.

PREPARING FOR SURGERY AND RECOVERY

Planning and preparing for your surgery is essential when traveling for surgery. We are here to ensure that this process is convenient and stress-free. Your follow-up visits and recovery details will depend on the type of procedure however our team will provide you with detailed surgical instructions including pre and post surgery.

SAFETY & PRECAUTIONS

Prior to surgery, there are some precautions to be taken in order to prepare for surgery. Here are a few instructions to help you prepare:

  • Anticoagulants such as aspirin, ibuprofen, Excedrin, etc., as well as vitamin supplements,  are to be stopped 7 days prior to surgery
  • If you are a smoker, smoking will need to be stopped 6 weeks prior and 6-week post surgery
  • Discuss any medications you take regularly with Dr. Lee

A medical questionnaire will be provided to ensure all details pertaining to your health is communicated with Dr. Lee

POST SURGERY

Planning to have a friend or loved one with you is recommended. If your procedure is performed with general anesthesia; someone will be required to discharge you from our clinic and transport you to your hotel. Having someone with you is important to provide extra care the evening of surgery as anesthesia effects wear off. If planning to return day of your procedure, this person can assure you avoid any heavy lifting such as luggage and baggage.

YOUR STAY

Dr. Lee recommends a 4 to 7 day stay post surgery to be able to follow-up with you prior to your return. Please take advantage of our corporate rate at Hotel Le St Martin located conveniently 2.5km from our clinic. The hotel staff are accustomed to receiving our patients and their friendly staff is happy to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Our preferential rate includes breakfast and parking to Le St-Martin Hotel.

HOTEL BIOGRAPHY

Les Hôtels St-Martin Inc. is a family business that started in 2003 and has been growing since then.  It currently owns and operates two magnificent boutique hotels in Montreal and Laval as well as a franchised property in Bromont.

As of August 2018, a new prestigious five-star boutique hotel, located in the historic and high-end Birks Building, at Phillips Square in downtown Montreal, was added to our beautiful collection.
